Classy Syrah from a terrific Côte-Rôtie producer – this is for more immediate drinking, but shows the same classy winemaking as its senior sibling ‘La Giroflarie’. Savoury, meaty notes support fleshy plum and blackberry fruit and a core of spicy pepper with an elegant floral perfume. Smooth finish. Brilliant with a peppered steak or sauté of wild mushrooms.
