More than any other variety, Gewurztraminer is a love-it-or-hate it grape. But anyone who claims to not like it should know they are missing out in this example. It has that classic and seductive rose petal and lychee note on the nose, which is undeniably aromatic. But the palate has such an impressive mineral tension and a long, concentrated finish - not too sweet - but weighty enough to pair well with one of the world’s toughest food matches: oily fish, particularly smoked salmon.
