A new Premier Cru from the recently elevated Pouilly-Fuissé appellation in the Mâconnais, Le Clos Reyssier represents an exciting addition to the Joseph Drouhin portfolio. The 2020 elevation of Pouilly-Fuissé to include Premier Cru classifications recognised the finest terroirs in this celebrated southern Burgundy appellation.
Brilliant pale gold. Fresh and expressive nose of white peach, citrus blossom, and a distinctive mineral, stony character. On the palate, the wine is precise and focused with excellent concentration, vibrant acidity, and a long, clean mineral finish. A beautifully crafted Premier Cru that showcases the quality potential of Pouilly-Fuissé.
Vintage 2023: One of the hottest years in Burgundy, producing generous, ripe wines with excellent concentration. Smooth, long and complex palates — a vintage of high quality.
Viticulture: Organic and biodynamic practices since the 1980s–1990s. Low yields to maximise terroir expression.
Harvest: Hand-picked in open-work crates with careful sorting.
Vinification: Gentle pressing. Temperature-controlled fermentation in oak barrels. Indigenous yeasts.
Ageing: French oak barrels, 15–20% new. 10–12 months.
Appellation: Pouilly-Fuissé 1er Cru AOC, Mâconnais, Burgundy, France.
