To the south of Mâcon, Saint-Véran encompasses a number of villages around Pouilly-Fuissé. Only Chardonnay is permitted in the appellations largely limestone soils and encompasses much of the area often previously sold as Beaujolais 'Blanc'. This is the Graillot family's first vintage of Chardonnay from their 'Les Crais' vines, and it spends some time in oak. It’s characteristically fresh and zingy with lovely acidity, citrus tang and bags of minerality.
