Gevrey-Chambertin is the most celebrated village appellation on the Côte de Nuits, home to nine Grand Crus including the legendary Chambertin. Joseph Drouhin's village-level Gevrey-Chambertin is a benchmark expression of this prestigious appellation, sourced from carefully selected parcels.

Deep ruby colour with a complex nose of dark cherry, blackcurrant, violet, and a characteristic earthy, spiced character. On the palate, firm yet elegant tannins with a rich, full-bodied structure and a long, persistent finish. A serious, age-worthy Gevrey with all the hallmarks of this great terroir.

Vintage 2023: One of the hottest years in Burgundy, with generous quantity and quality. Ripe red and black berry flavours, excellent ripeness with smooth, long and complex palates. A vintage of high quality.

Viticulture: Organic and biodynamic practices since the 1980s–1990s. Low yields to maximise terroir expression.

Harvest: Hand-picked in open-work crates with careful sorting.

Vinification: 20–50% whole-cluster fermentation depending on vintage. 2–3 weeks maceration in small open vats with punching of the cap and pumping-over. Indigenous yeasts. Vertical press.

Ageing: French oak barrels, 20–25% new. 14–16 months.

Appellation: Gevrey-Chambertin AOC, Côte de Nuits, Burgundy, France.

Grape Variety: 100% Pinot Noir.

Cellaring: 8–15 years.

Food Pairing: Roasted beef, lamb, game, aged hard cheeses.
