La Dame de Bouard is the second wine of Château Clos de Bouard, produced by the Bouard de Laforest family — the owners of the legendary Château Angélus. It offers the same meticulous winemaking approach and clay-limestone terroir at a more approachable level.
The 2017 vintage shows a bright ruby colour with a fresh, fruit-forward nose of red cherry, raspberry, and subtle spice. Medium-bodied on the palate with supple tannins, good balance, and a clean, elegant finish. Approachable now but will reward short-term cellaring.
Appellation: Montagne Saint-Emilion AOC. Grapes: Merlot, Cabernet Franc. Food Pairing: Grilled meats, pasta with meat sauce, soft cheeses. Cellaring: 3–7 years.
