Château d'Agassac is one of the oldest estates in the Médoc, with origins dating back to the 13th century. Located in Ludon-Médoc and classified as a Cru Bourgeois Supérieur, the estate produces wines of genuine elegance from its gravelly, well-drained soils.
The 2019 vintage shows a deep ruby colour with purple highlights. The nose is expressive with ripe blackcurrant, plum, cedar, and a touch of graphite. On the palate, it is medium-to-full bodied with well-integrated tannins, good freshness, and a persistent finish.
Appellation: Haut-Médoc AOC. Grapes: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc. Ageing: 12 months in French oak barrels. Food Pairing: Roast lamb, duck confit, aged cheeses. Cellaring: 5–10 years.
